Her journey into primary care was inspired by her love of teaching and caring for others. After witnessing the impact of lifestyle changes on her own health during nursing school, she became passionate about integrative medicine and its ability to transform lives.

Outside of work, Alexis has always enjoyed sports, especially soccer and strength training. She also enjoys baking and being outdoors, often returning to her family farm to recharge away from the busy life in Nashville. Alexis cherishes spending time with her large, loud, and close-knit family.

Tara Brewer

Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner-BC

We’re thrilled to welcome Tara Brewer, AGNP, to our care team!

Tara is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with a strong passion for holistic and integrative medicine. She brings a compassionate, whole-person approach to care, shaped by both her professional journey and her personal experiences.

Originally from East Tennessee near Knoxville, Tara moved to Middle Tennessee 13 years ago to attend Tennessee State University, where she earned her undergraduate nursing degree in 2016. She spent most of her RN career working in neuro and neuro step-down units, gaining deep experience in complex patient care. In August 2024, she completed her Nurse Practitioner degree at Maryville University, specializing in adult-geriatric care.

Tara currently sees patients ages 12 and up and is passionate about expanding her care to younger children as well. She plans to become dual board-certified and is pursuing a post-graduate certificate in either family or pediatric care, which will allow her to care for patients across the full age spectrum.

Outside of medicine, Tara is a devoted mom of two, a passionate gardener, and a traveler at heart. Her love for integrative medicine stems from growing up on family farms and being raised by all of her grandparents—experiences that shaped her appreciation for natural and holistic health. That passion deepened in college when a sociology class introduced her to the world of functional medicine and food systems, sparking a lifelong commitment to understanding the connection between nutrition, wellness, and preventive care.

Tara is also a woman of strong faith and brings that same dedication and empathy into every patient interaction. As a member of our community for over a decade, she’s proud to call this area home.

We’re honored to have Tara join us and can’t wait for you to meet her!
